Copacabana and Isla del Sol

Copacabana (Bolivia) is a nice and cosy seaside resort at lake Titikaka. It has an extraordinary cathedral, a lot of restaurants in which you can eat a whole menu for Euro 2.

Today I went to Isal del Sol, a trip of 3 hours with the boat. Isla del Sol is important in ancient times as well nowadays. The Inca´s believed the sun came into being from this island. Also, according to the old legends the first Inca was born from this see.
So a lot of sanctuaries on this island.
We visited these sanctuaries and after that I made a 3 hours walking trip from north to south and embarked the boat there again. After this I visited beautiful ruins made by Manco Capac himself (a very important Inca).
The weather, again, was perfect.

Copacabana en Isla del Sol

Copacabana (Bolivia) is een leuke gezellige badplaats aan het Titicacameer. Er is een bijzondere kathedraal en heel veel restaurants. Het is bijzonder goedkoop, een menu kun je al eten voor Euro 2.
Vandaag ben ik naar Isal del Sol geweest. Een reis van ca. 3 uur (enkel) met de boot. We hebben wat oude ruine{s en heiligdommen bekeken. Ik heb daarna ca. 3 uur het eiland over gewandeld en aan de andere kant weer op de boot gestapt.
Isla del Sol is een heel belangrijk eiland omdat de Inca´s geloofden dat de zon uit dit eiland was ontstaan. Bovendien zijn de eerste Inca´s uit dit meer opgerezen (dus niet geboren). M.a.w. alle heiligheid en mysterie hangt hier aan vast.
Nog een bezoekje aan de ruine{s van Manco Capac (een van de ´Inca´s´). Ook nu weer prachtig weer.
